THE DENTAL TOURISM PROCESS

Our simple 5-step process for international dental
patients. Online consultation, travel planning, treatment in Islamabad, and follow-up support.

How Our International Patient Process Works — Step by Step

One of the biggest obstacles for potential dental tourists is uncertainty. What happens after you make contact? How  do you coordinate treatment around a flight booking? What if something goes wrong after you return home? This page walks you through exactly what the experience looks like from first contact to long-term follow-up.

Step 1 — Initial Contact and Case Review (Before You Travel)

What to do: Send us an enquiry via WhatsApp (+92 333 5312612) or email (Talha_mushtaq777@hotmail.com) with the following:

  • Recent dental X-rays (a panoramic OPG X-ray is ideal; a bitewing X-ray is also helpful)
  • Photographs of your teeth: front view smiling, front view lips relaxed, right side, left side, upper arch (mouth open), lower arch (mouth open)
  • A brief written summary of your dental concerns, goals, and any relevant medical history (medications, allergies, previous dental work)

What happens next: Our clinical team reviews your submission and provides a written treatment recommendation within 24 to 48 hours. This includes:

  • Which treatments are clinically indicated
  • How many visits are likely required
  • A preliminary cost estimate
  • How long you should plan to stay in Pakistan

This consultation is provided at no charge. There is no obligation to proceed.

Step 2 — Personalised Treatment Plan and Cost Estimate

Once you have reviewed our initial recommendation and have questions answered, we provide a full written treatment plan including: Detailed breakdown of all recommended procedures

Full itemised cost estimate in USD (and PKR equivalent)

Suggested appointment schedule showing how your treatment distributes across your planned stay

Recommended trip duration based on your treatment needs

This document is yours to keep. You can share it with your dentist at home for a second opinion if you wish. We encourage that.

Step 3 — Travel Planning and Appointment Booking

Once you confirm you wish to proceed, we help coordinate the practical aspects of your visit:

Appointment Booking: We confirm your appointment schedule before you book flights. This way you know exactly which days you need to be in Islamabad for treatment, and you can plan your remaining days for rest, tourism, or further exploration.

Recommended Stay Duration:

  • Teeth whitening only: 1 day
  • Single crown or veneer: 5 to 7 days
  • Full smile makeover (multiple veneers or crowns): 7 to 10 days
  • Root canal treatment: 5 to 7 days
  • Dental implant placement: 7 to 14 days
  • Combined treatments (e.g., implant + crowns + whitening): 10 to 14 days

Getting to Islamabad:

Islamabad International Airport (IATA: ISB) is the entry point for most international patients. Direct flights from London operate via several carriers. Connections are available from most international hubs through Dubai (Emirates, flydubai), Doha (Qatar Airways), or Istanbul (Turkish Airlines). The airport is approximately 30 to 45 minutes from central Islamabad by road.

Accommodation: Islamabad has a good range of hotels from budget guesthouses to international-standard business hotels. We recommend staying in central Islamabad (F-6, F-7, F-8 sectors) or in proximity to our G16/3 clinic for convenience. Popular options include Serena Hotel (five-star), Islamabad Marriott (five-star), and various three-and-four star business hotels in the Blue Area.

Step 4 — Treatment at Our Clinic in Islamabad

Arrival appointment: Your first in-clinic appointment typically involves:

  • A clinical examination by the relevant specialist
  • Updated digital X-rays if needed (at no extra charge for international patients)
  • A face-to-face treatment planning discussion confirming everything agreed during the online consultation Photographs for clinical records

In most cases, active treatment begins at the first appointment or at the second appointment the following day, depending on the nature of the work.

During treatment: All procedures are carried out under local anaesthesia to ensure your comfort. For patients with dental anxiety, we discuss appropriate sedation or comfort options at the pre-treatment consultation. Our team is experienced in managing anxious patients.

Communication: Every stage of your treatment is explained before it is carried out. You will never be surprised by what is happening in the chair.

Step 5 — Aftercare, Healing, and Long-Term Follow-Up

Before you leave Islamabad: You receive:

  • Written aftercare instructions specific to your treatment
  • Any necessary medications (antibiotic cover, pain relief, anti-inflammatory)
  • Emergency contact details for the clinic
  • A clinical summary of the treatment performed (useful for your dentist at home)

After you return home: You have ongoing access to our clinical team via WhatsApp and email. This means:

  • If you have concerns about healing, you can send photographs and receive clinical feedback
  • If your home dentist has questions about the treatment, they can contact us directly
  • If you need a follow-up procedure during a future trip to Pakistan, we maintain your full records

Long-term considerations for implant patients: Full implant integration typically takes 3 to 6 months.

Patients who receive implant placement on their first trip often return 4 to 6 months later for the final crown fitting. We can coordinate this as a shorter second visit.
