Pakistan — and specifically Islamabad — is quietly emerging as one of Asia’s most compelling destinations for high-quality, affordable dental care.

Choosing a dental clinic in a country you have never visited is a significant decision. You need confidence in the clinical team’s qualifications, the clinic’s standards of infection control, the quality of materials used, and the transparency of the process from initial enquiry to the moment you return home.
This page is designed to give you exactly that confidence — with specific, verifiable information about who we are and how we work.
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed founded this practice on the foundation of over four decades of active clinical dentistry. His career has spanned general practice, hospital-based dentistry, and specialist treatment across multiple disciplines. That depth of experience is not something that can be replicated by a newer clinic with younger staff, regardless of how modern their equipment appears.
What 40 years means in practice:
Dr. Mushtaq’s son, Dr. Talha Bin Mushtaq, now also practices at the clinic, bringing a new generation of training and clinical skills while carrying forward the same patient-centred philosophy.
Most dental clinics — including many that market themselves to international patients — are essentially singledentist or two-dentist general practices that handle everything in-house regardless of whether specialist input is appropriate.
Mushtaq Specialist Dental Practice is structured differently. Our team includes qualified specialists in:
Managed by Dr. Maryam, a specialist orthodontist whose work covers traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, and clear aligner systems. International patients seeking smile correction, bite alignment, or preimplant orthodontic preparation benefit from genuine specialist input rather than a general dentist attempting orthodontic work.
Managed by Dr. Osama, whose specialty covers complex extractions, jaw surgery, surgical implant placement, bone grafting, and the management of facial trauma and pathology. Having an OMFS specialist in-house is particularly relevant for international patients who may present with more complex cases that require surgical intervention alongside restorative work.
Our endodontic capabilities mean that root canal treatments — frequently the most anxiety provoking dental procedure for patients — are carried out with specialist precision rather than as a generalised afterthought.
Dental implants require careful surgical planning, appropriate material selection, and long-term follow-up. Our implant team works within a multi-specialty environment, which means that patients who need bone grafting, surgical preparation, or prosthetic planning alongside implant placement are managed by the right specialist at each stage.
Veneers, crowns, whitening, fillings, and cosmetic smile design are handled with the same specialist oversight that governs our surgical work.
We understand that travelling from another country for dental treatment requires a different level of support than booking a local appointment.
Our approach for international patients includes:
Before you book any flights, send us your dental records, photographs, or Xrays via WhatsApp (+92 333 5312612) or email. Our clinical team will review your case and provide a clear, honest assessment of what treatment is appropriate, how many visits are required, and the total cost. We will not recommend procedures you do not need. We will not provide a low-ball estimate and then add charges once you are seated in the chair
We structure treatment appointments around your travel dates. Most of our international patient treatments can be completed within one to two weeks, depending on complexity. We will give you a clear day-by-day schedule before you leave home.
All treatment costs are provided in writing before treatment begins. There are no hidden laboratory fees, no surprise charges for X-rays or consultations, and no pressure to upgrade to more expensive options unless clinically justified
All consultations, treatment plans, and follow-up communications are conducted in English.
After you return home, you retain access to our clinical team via WhatsApp and email. If you have concerns, questions, or need to send photographs of healing progress, we are available to respond.

Our Islamabad clinic is equipped with:
Our sterilisation protocols follow guidelines from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and are consistent with international best practice standards.
